What it does
Still Spectral is a parametric EQ you play on the display: drag a numbered node for frequency and gain, scroll for Q.
Underneath, the Spectral Tamer pulls down any frequency that sticks out — ringing, resonance, harshness — only while it's happening. Its cuts are drawn live as gold dips. Everything is IIR, so it adds no latency.
Key features
- 8 bands: Bell, Low shelf, High shelf, Low cut, High cut, Notch
- One click on a node switches the band on; drag for frequency and gain, scroll for Q, double-click to switch off
- Post-EQ spectrum analyzer
- Spectral Tamer: Depth, Threshold, Max cut, Attack, Release and a Watch from / to range
- Make room: the Tamer follows the sidechain (e.g. the lead vocal) and dips this signal only where and while the vocal is
Quick start
- Click a node to switch its band on, then drag it to shape the tone.
- Turn on the Tamer with a moderate Depth and watch the gold dips.
- Narrow Watch from / to if it acts where you don't want it.
Controls

|---|---|---|
| Band type | 6 types | Bell, Low shelf, High shelf, Low cut, High cut, Notch. |
| Frequency | 20 Hz to 20 kHz | Per band. |
| Gain | −24 to +24 dB | Per band (bells and shelves). |
| Q | 0.1 to 18 | Per-band width. Scroll over a node. |
| Tamer depth | 0 to 100% | How hard the Tamer works. |
| Tamer threshold | 0 to 18 dB | How far a frequency must stick out before it's cut. |
| Max cut | 0 to 24 dB | Most the Tamer may take from any band. |
| Attack / Release | 0.5–50 ms / 10–500 ms | Tamer timing. |
| Watch from / to | 40 Hz–2 kHz / 2–18 kHz | Range the Tamer acts on. |

GOOD TO KNOW
An FFT-based EQ can never be zero latency — that's why the Tamer is an IIR filter bank.
